 Current JLRV Community Focus

To address poverty in the Roanoke Valley and surrounding areas by connecting the community to existing resources and removing barriers to healthcare and food.

Available Grants:

Apel Family

Provides funding for unusual and capital expenditures that align with the current JLRV focus.  Funding Request: Up to $5,000

Care That Counts

Supports organizations projects relating to childcare, supports agencies in need of assistance with sliding scale childcare, provides scholarships to students who otherwise could not afford specific educational opportunities, and/or supports after school care or other opportunities that enrich the lives of children.  Funding Request: No specific limitations

Community Focus

Provides fund for 501(c)(3) organizations for projects that align with the current JLRV focus.  Funding Request:  No specific limitations

Applications for the current grant cycle opened September 2025 for notification of status in April 2026
